Northeast Seattle this week

Leaves get free pickup all November: up to 10 extra bags on each collection day. Seattle Public Utilities takes them with your food and yard waste service, leaves only, no food. Use paper or compostable lawn and leaf bags or a reusable container with a lid, never plastic bags. Seattle Public Utilities
The University Branch library on Roosevelt Way NE now expects to reopen in December, not September. The branch has its seismic retrofit done, plus a new heating and cooling system, an elevator, accessible restrooms, a new service desk and a renovated meeting room. Seattle Public Library
You can ask for a public EV charger at the curb near your home. City Light and SDOT are taking applications through fall 2027 for up to 200 curbside Level 2 chargers by 2030. Spots not already near a charger come first, and requests from several neighbors close together help. Seattle City Light
Coming home from the Eastside late? Two SR 520 exits close at night next week. Monday to Thursday, October 26 to 29, 10 PM to 6 AM, the westbound off-ramps to northbound I-5 and to East Roanoke Street close for Montlake work. WSDOT
Your neighborhood
Laurelhurst. (evergreen) Where 51st Avenue NE ends at Lake Washington, a shoreline street end is open to everyone: a picnic table and a water-viewing area, timber steps down to the lake, a curb ramp and bike racks. The Seattle Conservation Corps built it in less than three months. SDOT

The market in 60 seconds
Across Northeast Seattle ZIPs 98105 and 98115, the median home sold for $991K over the last 30 days (78 closings; single-family alone $1.10M). The median home took 38 days from listing to closing, and there are 4 months of inventory on the market.
Against last Saturday's count, the median is up from $965K, days on market are about the same (36), and inventory eased from 4.3 months, with active listings down from 323 to 312. The two 30-day windows share most of their sales, so one week's move says little about direction. Single-family homes run tighter, at 2.7 months, and 28% of homes closed above asking, the same as last week. Under three months favors sellers and above six favors buyers, so the area overall stays balanced.
One useful thing: clear the drain at the curb
Leaves on the street clog storm drains and pipes, and the water ponds on the block. Rake the grate clear, put the leaves in your yard waste cart or paper bags, and bin any trash. If the drain is still blocked once the surface is clear, call the Seattle Public Utilities drainage hotline at (206) 386-1800. Adopt a Storm Drain
