Laurelhurst. (evergreen) Last December the council approved Seattle Public Utilities' purchase of the former Talaris site, 17.77 acres at 4000 NE 41st Street. Yesler Creek runs under part of it in a 72-inch stormwater pipe about 70 years old that fish cannot pass, and the state will no longer permit work to extend that pipe's life without removing the barrier. Opening the creek takes a channel and floodplain about 100 feet wide. City Attorney's 2025 report, page 14
